The Fifth Street Public Market is the most upscale shopping spot in Eugene. This conveniently located market at the edge of downtown Eugene has a delightful courtyard atmosphere and a collection of eclectic shops, galleries and eateries.

Eugene Saturday Market a Eugene institution for almost 40 years, the market is open every Saturday 10 am to 5 pm April through October. This lively market features high-quality locally grown produce, crafts, food booths and musicians. Locals and tourists alike flock here. Parking is available nearby.

The Hult Center's seven performing arts Resident Companies feature accomplished area artists plus distinguished guest artists from many parts of the world. The Center also features a permanent art collection and temporary exhibits.

An annual event held in July, sponsored by the Maude Kerns Art Center, the Art and the Vineyard fair showcases local artisan wares, the wines of local vineyards, a food court and music venues. Crowds throng there for two days of browsing and feasting.

The Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House was built in 1888 on a hill overlooking the city of Eugene, Oregon. The three families who occupied the house witnessed and contributed to the transformation of Eugene from a frontier farming town to a thriving education and commercial center. Known in its day as the “Castle on the Hill,” the house stands as a classic example of Queen Anne-style Victorian Mansion of the late 19th century. The House is now owned by the city and open to the public for comprehensive tours. In addition to regular public hours, it is open for special tours by appointment.

A mainstay of Lane County, this lively annual August event features all the traditional exhibits – from homemade baked goods, jellies and quilts, to pig races, a circus midway, and extensive animal exhibits. Count on delicious food from many vendors under a shady tent.

Lane County wineries offer tastings of fine Oregon varietal wines (e.g. pinot noir, pinot gris, chardonnay, Riesling, zinfandel) in beautiful settings. An annual barrel tour is held in June, and the wineries have several other special tasting events throughout the year. You can taste and buy a selection of their wines here at McKenzie Orchards, where you can also book a limo tour of the wineries of your choice .

Nestled in the beautiful McKenzie River Valley with glistening views of the Three Sisters Mountains, Tokatee Golf Club offers an incredible mix of postcard vistas and championship golf. Situated on 170 acres, Emerald Valley Golf Club is one of the Willamette Valley's premier championship public golf courses. Nestled by the gently flowing coast fork of the Willamette River, it is known for its tree lined fairways, fast and consistent greens and tournament quality course conditions.

CRC is a non-profit nature center and wildlife hospital founded in 1987. In early 1994, CRC moved to its current location on a wooded hillside in southeast Eugene and opened to the public. The birds brought here are too badly injured or malformed to be released again from captivity, but may occasionally breed at the center and fledge healthy young to the wild. CRC's Mission: Through wildlife rehabilitation and public education, Cascades Raptor Center fosters a connection between people and birds of prey. Our goal is to help the human part of the natural community learn to value, understand, and honor the role of wildlife in preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Pacific Northwest.

Only a few miles from our inn, Elijah Bristow State Park is easy to reach via State Highway 58 southeast of the Eugene. It’s a lovely spot for a leisurely picnic lunch next to the Willamette River. Elijah Bristow has more than 10 miles of trail for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Part of the trail system includes a portion of the Eugene to Pacific Crest trail.

Since 1931, the McKenzie River Guides Association has provided outstanding recreational services to those who visit the McKenzie River Valley. Its members not only provide fishing and whitewater rafting trips, but they also work closely with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife and other conservation groups to help preserve and enhance the river’s recreational resources.

The Helfrich tradition of over three-quarters of a century on Oregon and Idaho rivers is being further enhanced today by Aaron and Jonnie Helfrich.

McKenzie River Rafting, A Helfrich Outfitter LLC, has an well-earned reputation for custom trips that provide the maximum level of enjoyment for all skill levels.

The Caddis Fly Angling Shop located in downtown Eugene, offers everything for the angler as well as fishing trips on central Oregon rivers such as the McKenzie and the Deschutes.
