Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson HouseThe Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House was built in 1888 on a hill overlooking the city of Eugene, Oregon. The three families who occupied the house witnessed and contributed to the transformation of Eugene from a frontier farming town to a thriving education and commercial center. Known in its day as the “Castle on the Hill,” the house stands as a classic example of Queen Anne-style Victorian Mansion of the late 19th century. The House is now owned by the city and open to the public for comprehensive tours. In addition to regular public hours, it is open for special tours by appointment. |

Cascades Raptor CenterCRC is a non-profit nature center and wildlife hospital founded in 1987. In early 1994, CRC moved to its current location on a wooded hillside in southeast Eugene and opened to the public. The birds brought here are too badly injured or malformed to be released again from captivity, but may occasionally breed at the center and fledge healthy young to the wild. CRC's Mission: Through wildlife rehabilitation and public education, Cascades Raptor Center fosters a connection between people and birds of prey. Elijah Bristow State ParkOnly a few miles from our inn, Elijah Bristow State Park is easy to reach via State Highway 58 southeast of the Eugene.
