The Workshop Instructor

Margaret Ferguson has been quilting prolifically for almost 10 years. Her love of quilts and quilting has led naturally to teaching. She has taught many classes and workshops in the Willamette Valley area and the Oregon Coast. Her positive, humorous approach creates a non-threatening environment which makes learning and working in the “classroom” environment fun.

The Class Project

Margaret will teach the Scrappy Half Log Cabin Quilt.

Beginning with an assortment of 2” strips, you will be constructing Half Log Cabin blocks in a manner which enables you to utilize speed piecing and still maintain the “scrappy” look. This fairly simple block can create a dramatic quilt or one that is quite old-fashioned looking depending on fabric choice. There are many variations for this block including different layouts. Class size is a minimum or six and a maximum of twelve participants.

The Inn workspace

McKenzie Orchards B&B opened in 2009 offering a spacious, modern inn on the McKenzie River, close to Eugene. The Inn has abundant, large, well-lit workspaces ideal for quilting. All guest rooms and public spaces are accessible.
